Last Friday, RIL generated a meeting between the participating cities of the Cities of Knowledge program, and leaders of the country's knowledge industry.

There are 380,000 young people between 20 and 30 years old who are currently studying "Argentina Program" with the assistance of 170 teachers from all over the country and another 100,000 vacancies are open. "I program in my City" will be developed in 40 locations, promoted by the Chamber of the Argentine Software Industry (CESSI) with the support of the companies that comprise it. In three years, enrollment in engineering courses tripled. Data that encourages us to think that the Knowledge Economy is positioned as a paradigm for the development of our communities.

The data arose from the meeting that the referents of the fourteen municipalities that participate in the RIL Cities of Knowledge program, together with Emiliano Zapata, National Director of Regional Strengthening of the Knowledge Economy, of the Ministry of Productive Development, and with Blas Briceño, Vice President first from CESSI.

The space served to articulate the actions that are planned from the cities with the lines of work of the national portfolio; From time to time, it was possible to delve into the details of focused training lines and the financing for these training instances and the development of infrastructure.

In this sense, Zapata especially highlighted the decision to decentralize policies through a federal plan for the structural strengthening of the knowledge economy throughout the country and the design of a retention scheme with the municipalities, to support the formation of youths.

"We have to ensure that, in ten years, 1% of the population of each city works in technology," said the first vice president of the software chamber when outlining the opportunities that the sector brings for the development of local economies.

Likewise, he provided information about the initiative "I program in my city" that will be developed in 40 localities of the country and to which members of Cities of Knowledge will join.
